Self-Escape
Our research indicates that self-escape is the fourth leading
cause of safety issues with residential elevators. The
following items contribute to this:
-
Unit purchased from a non-local source with no ability to
service the product they sell. They typically cannot,
or will not, respond to emergency escape situations.
-
If power fails, residential elevators take passengers to the
lowest landing before shutting down. there are
documented incidents of elderly or handicapped passenger
being injured while attempting to get out of a basement or
lower floor by trying to use the stairs.
-
Potential of elevator phones malfunctioning, creating a
situation where a passenger attempts self escape, falling
down the shaft in the process.
-
Gate systems and door locks allow self escape at any point
in the shaft.
Revolution
Solution for self-escape entrapment
-
The Revolution will travel both up and down in the event
of a power failure, and will continue to do so for up to
one hour of continual use.
-
The Revolution uses a built-in, commercial quality speaker
phone that is tamper-proof and not prone to failure.
-
The Revolution uses a "gate restrictor" system that will
not allow the gate to be opened unless the car is at a
landing. The door lock systems will not allow for
self escape without the skilled working knowledge of an
elevator technician.
-
The Elevator Company and its dealers are always only a
phone call away, and always have local emergency response
representatives wherever their product is sold.
|
THE BOTTOM LINE IS, THE REVOLUTION DESIGN HAS MADE IT
UNNECESSARY FOR CONSUMER TO SELF-ESCAPE. IF THEY ARE
PUT IN A SELF-ESCAPE SITUATION, THEY CAN RELY ON THE
PROFESSIONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM OF THE ELEVATOR
COMPANY, OR ITS DEALERS, TO ASSURE A SAFE ESCAPE WITH
NO FALLS OR INJURIES. |
