Your Child's Safety

A universal question from consumers, as well as design professionals, is whether having an elevator in the home environment is truly safe.  the typical answer is, "You are more likely to have an accident by...etc., etc., etc." - implying there is minimal risk.

The truth, however, is that accidents can, and do, occur with residential elevator systems, and may result in serious injury or even death - particularly to small children.  It is important to recognize that by educating yourself on the risks and safety measures, and by ensuring that your elevator is properly installed with appropriate safety features, accidents or injury can be completely avoided.

Traditionally, residential elevator manufacturers maintain a philosophy of calculated acceptable risk, based on the exposure to riders each day.  Unfortunately, these few riders are in a private environment where they feel a sense of security, their own home.
